Primary Home Care is a Medicaid funded program that provides in-home assistance to persons with a medical diagnosis and functional impairment in performing their personal care activities, such as bathing, dressing, feeding, personal hygiene, transferring/ambulating and meal preparation. These non-technical, physician prescribed personal care services are available to Medicaid eligible patients whose health problems cause them to be functionally limited in performing activities of daily living. This is not a skilled nursing service.
If you or someone you know is not currently a Medicaid recipient, contact an HCU office nearest you. We will be happy to take the appropriate information and initiate a referral to a local Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) office. DADS will then contact and set an appointment with the person and/or family requesting services. |
